Sangeet Foundation at House of Commons on 19th Feb 2024
A session with multiple facets, informative discussion which addresses Sangeet Foundation’s aim of engaging with the members of the parliament to create more awareness about mental health and engage in order to be more productive on the ground.
This session also allowed us to discuss the research work based on SF that I am pursuing under the guidance of Dr. Indrani Lahiri of De Montfort University International, Leicester about creating community resilience using music and the arts.
Thank you Virendra Sharma, MP, Ealing Southall for hosting us. We are highly indebted.
Thank you Radhika Iyer for conducting the session on our behalf.
Thank you all who attended and participated in the session and made the discussions so much richer.
Lastly but not the least to our SF members who contributed to the thought process for the event! It is an exhilarating journey!
Looking forward to our next engagement with the decision and law makers in the coming months to discuss policies and possibly make a difference.
Finally, the little gifts we gave out to all invitees were individually hand painted notebooks (and the jute bags given to our hosts) by the artistes and artisans from rural Maharashtra who are supported by Raah Foundation. This is Warli Art which is proven to help with mental health.
Thank you Sonia Risbood for organising this!
